Rain
05:08
|
|||
I am stuck for words, it is just the day, that started quite absurd and finished up so late. I cannot resume the singing dancing truth, All I hear is rain bang Banging on my roof.
What if you weren’t round, what if I’m not scared, would you make a sound of something that I feared, can I take your hand and slap it onto mine, sellotape the world onto our backs just fine.
And I need you to be sure, that your love is something pure, for the only heart in here, is my own being sincere, write the reason on my palm, make it clear and make it calm, that your smile is open wide, to hold next to me, by your side.
Where are the spring flowers there’s only ice out there, shivering around us, the coolness in the air, when is summer coming, let her out today, let me know so I don’t disappear the other way.
Wonder if you heard me, screaming silently. To the skies above us, a complex melody, wonder if you hear it, just figure out the words, that I sing so loudly, even though theyre blurred.
When I wake up what do I hear, the Tui singing close by there, Then I look across to your face, lying peaceful in your silent …. Grace.

Southbound Seas
04:21
|
|||
Its Monday morning, the bright sunshine is trying to have a dance with the rain.
I don’t sleep much these days, every night drawn out long just the same.
The leaves are changing, the end of summer is just around the corner. Every time I think of you, my heart begins to ponder.
Oh darlin won’t you come sing with me, we’ll sing about the tails of the south bound sea, oh darling, take my hand and show me all of the stories.
I need to get up, out of this bed and pack up all the things I have here.
In time to move again, a long drive ahead up the middle of the South Island.
Then I will find a home, sing to it’s walls and dance around the kitchen floor
Will you come visit me? Still write me letters and tails of the distant sea’s the distant sea’s.
Still write me letters and tales of the south bound shores, the south bound shores.
Oh darlin won’t you come sing with me, we’ll sing about the tails of the south bound sea, oh darling, take my hand and show me all of the stories.
Oh darlin won’t you come walk with me, we’ll walk around the tail of the south bound sea’s. Oh darlin take my hand and walk these day’s, filled with stories.
I told you I’m scared, I told you I’m free.
That I don’t want anyone holding on to me.
It’s been a rough road, it’s been a long time.
But I’m learning every day that it’ll work out fine.

Your Sky
05:04
|
|||
He was young, he tried to learn, how to run and wait his turn.
Then he grew into a lad, tried to be just like his dad.
When he slept, he would dream, of the big world groaning at the seams.
He left the nest and tried his best, to find his way through each day.
Oh boy, where’d your voice go?
You met a lady and you were happy.
But the sky grew to large above you.
And the ocean grew wide beside you.
Then he left, packed up and travelled. Left his lady she sure was baffled.
He found the hills, the fields of green. The desserts, cities and country plains.
There was colour and there was life, stretched out right before his eyes.
And it seemed he’d found his way as he moved in and out each day.
Oh boy, where’d your voice go?
You met the world and you were happy.
But the sky grew to large above you.
And the ocean grew wide beside you.
Then he moved home, decided that he quite liked being on his own
He built a life solemn and solo, in and out each day, only to be alone.
Oh boy, where’d your Heart go?
You met your life and you were happy.
But the sky grew to large above you.
And the ocean grew wide beside you.

Go Away
03:48
|
|||
Go away, you’re not welcome to stay.
Go find another one and don’t tell me about them.
Cause I’m too far lost in your grasp to be helpful anymore.
So run loose ride your caboose right on down that hill to your door.
I’m not wanting you to be the savior of the day,
I just want you to go away
Go away, you’re not welcome to stay.

Goodbyes
03:49
|
|||
Fly away in your hot air balloon, fill it with your gold.
That you’ve saved up from all your time alone,
Now that you’ve grown old.
Take the songs that you most enjoy to sing,
Leave behind your woes.
Write a note then throw it like a paper plane, and watch it as it goes.
But don’t go without goodbyes.
The real ones yeah, eye to eye.
Lets hold hands and lets reminiss,
The good times gone by.
Will you find a different land, that you will call home.
Make it home, make a feather bed, and not mind being alone.
Can I come and visit you? Bring lavender so sweet.
Make a roast, make a toast, write a song with you, then whisper off to sleep.
But don’t go without goodbyes.
The real ones yeah, eye to eye.
Lets hold hands and lets reminiss,
The good times gone by.

A Dance With Pride
04:38
|
|||
At some point you found me,
I was staring blankly out to sea, waiting for a boat to appear, you took my hand and stalled my stare.
I stood strong like a tree of pine, swaying in the breeze and thinking you were mine.
That is when I held up my heart I felt strong and brave… like the sun.
There is a thing that grows from inside,
A like or a love or a dance with pride.
Painting your way through a forest of birds,
Then stumbling down hill with a mouthful of cruel words.
Speak softly my dear, don’t raise your voice.
Believe in your story, its your own choice.
Stand still for now, don’t run and hide.
It’s just a like or a love or a dance with pride.
It’s just a like or a love or a dance with pride.
I worked myself so hard, never giving my eyes the time to see the shards of broken crystal that hung from my lashes. Thousands of old tears left in the ashes of days old and wise, filled with the burden of many old ties. Need to throw them out, leave them for the dogs at the bottom of the hill in a winter fog.
There is a thing that grows from inside,
A like or a love or a dance with pride.
Painting your way through a forest of birds,
Then stumbling down hill with a mouthful of cruel words.
Speak softly my dear, don’t raise your voice,
Believe in your story, its your own choice.
Stand still for now, don’t run and hide.
It’s just a like or a love or a dance with pride.
It’s just a like or a love or a dance with pride.

Mr Library
02:03
|
|||
When I saw you at the Library,
I just knew that you were meant for me.
I looked through the shelves and into your eyes,
Then darted away and tried to hide.
I liked your coat, it was dark blue.
It had this kind of red trim to it too.
But I walked away, tried not to blush,
Heard a lady over there whisper hush.
As I turned the corner, there you were.
I held my breath and tried not to stir.
But there it was – clear as day,
That smile that made me drift away.
You walked on, that was it.
You were gone, so, here I sit.
Oh Mr Mr Library….
I do sure hope one day… you’ll find me…

Wooden Windowsills
04:25
|
|||
Do you like apple pies,
Do you like the sun in your eyes,
Do you like the scent of the sea,
Would you like holding hands with me.
Do you like singing out loud,
Do you like getting lost in crowds of friends,
Do you like listening to the birds,
Do you like being silly with words.
Do you like running away,
Do you like forgetting what to say,
Do you like walking up hills,
Do you like wooden window sills.
Cause I do…. Do you?
Do you like Honey toast,
Do you like painted blue boats,
Do you like standing in the rain,
Do you like finding out we’re the same.
Do you like hearing cicada’s,
Do you like talking to neighbours,
Do you like making up desserts,
Do you like laughing so hard it hurts.
Do you like sandy feet,
Do you like dancing down the street,
Do you like nectarines & plums,
Do you like painting with gold….in the sun.
Cause I do… Do you ?

Evelyn
05:00
|
|||
She sits here wondering where her life has gone,
Stumbling through another year, what has she become?
No one round there’s hardly a sound from outside her front door.
Letters sent but no reply, friendships seem at war.
Evelyn why don’t you whisper, prayers within, tell her you miss her. Stop the fight, cover it all with star light, star light.
Evelyn, why don’t you whisper, songs within, tell her you miss her. Stop the fight, cover it all with star light, star light.
Every day she wakes up and makes her favourite brew.
Listens to National Radio and wonders what to do.
Crosswords done, the washings put out, maybe take a stroll.
Sunhat on, shawl around, looking for a friendly soul.
Evelyn why don’t you whisper, prayers within, tell her you miss her. Stop the fight, cover it all with star light , star light.
Evelyn, why don’t you whisper, songs within, tell her you miss her. Stop the fight, cover it all with star light, star light.
Sing while you play the piano, waltz like you used to.
Write while you remember stories back from your glory days.

Sea Salt
03:22
|
|||
It is morning, there is a frost.
But it’s spring time, I fear it’s lost.
Can you hear the waves? They’re only a block away.
Shhh close your eyes,
Hear them play.
An orchestra of sound,
Welcoming the day.
Instrumental sways from the sea to me, the land the sand, all alone.
Passing by from island to island to island.
Watch them crash then say goodbye.
Move tide crash bang, move out tide sways move the right way, in your light babe. Breathe, move out tide, soft sway light fade, sing the tides day, float sea salt spray.

Missing Summer
04:01
|

I love you … even though, I don’t seem to see you much any more
And I thank you for helping me out when I needed a hand to hold and squeeze.
Strike the match, strike the band… let us listen while I squeeze your hand.
Let me be, let me free, I will guide us all through our Winter time.
Fall down, on the clouds, that sway from blue to grey.
Hear the sound, from the ground.
Rain and splashing, pain and passion.

A Thousand Trees
02:17
|
|||
There you go. My love pulled two and fro.
Far away from me. You left so we’d be free.
I watch you fly, off into our night sky.
With wings made of memories, and the sound of a thousand trees.
Singing Oooooooooh.
